The title fits this image in so many ways. Its uncommon that a simple picture of a leaf can showcase for so many human emotions and experiences. I don't know if this is intentional, but the leaf reminds me of two different human poses that I will try to connect to the chosen title.
The first is a resemblance of a classic movie fainting scene ... some princess, or baroness or maid, impaired breathing due to a corset, goes to the floor, hand on her forehead, the other arm pointed towards a possible saviour in the form of a gentlemen with manners, strong arms and fast reflexes. A scene we have all at least seen once (i mean, who has never watched old movies) and a very good example of people reacting to "things to come".
The second is a person blinded by the sun, or other bright light sources ... be it a fire, stagelights, those greenish artifical lights of hospitals ... raising the arm across the eyes to protect them and maybe to enable them to take that second or first look on "things to come". It could also be a protective motion to cover from storm or rain or other unfriendly weather ... the second arm protecting loved ones, friends, strangers ... who knows.
Combine this with a background that displays a very soft, mosaic like display of autumn colors, that could represent the cultural and situational boiling pot that is life, the uncertainty that awaits every single one of us ... at some point of our life. And the main character (still just a leaf ... or not) dealing with it. Thank you for so many stories and such a scene on nothing more that a square of film/image/sensor ... good work.
thanks. i'm glad i'm not the only person that takes in the title just as much as the actual piece of work. i'm really glad you posted this critique, thank you very much
